MISSION

As a Merchandising Specialist at SwagUp, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, fast-paced team and help lead our efforts in product sourcing and merchandising! Merchandise is the backbone of our catalog and foundational to why our clients look to us for their swag!

The Merchandising Specialist position is responsible for assisting our sales team with product sourcing from the promotional products industry.  You’ll support the team with product ideas for client presentations, large order opportunities, RFPs and company stores. In this role you will also be supporting the Merchandising Manager with product assortment planning that aligns to our merchandising and sourcing strategy. You’ll be a key part of the merchandising team and will align execution with the merchandising and sourcing strategies. In addition, you’ll be our team’s liaison to overseas brokers and will identify those opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works with the merchandising manager on product assortment planning, vendor selection, product pricing, placement, positioning and promotional strategy
• Supports sales team’s unique merchandise requests and makes client-specific recommendations
• Conducts regular competitive analysis on product offerings, prices
• Owns and executes the large quote process 
• Owns the custom sourcing process and liaison to overseas brokers/factories

REQUIREMENTS

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ Years of product merchandising, promotional product sourcing, company store merchandising or sales experience
• Promotional Products industry experience required
• Ability to act quickly and think creatively
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to partner across the organization and externally
• Flexible, resilient and comfortable working in “grey” areas that are ever-evolving
• Negotiation skills

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Fanatical about finding new, unique products that are relevant to our client base within the promotional products industry
• Development of curated assortments that are on-trend and high quality
• High degree of collaboration with the marketing and ecommerce teams on campaign development, seasonal catalogs, swag pack refreshes, etc.
• Negotiates pricing, production times, superior service levels. terms, etc. on large opportunities 
• Identifies opportunities to source product overseas
• Improved close rates of large opportunities 
• Special merchandising projects as assigned
