Own Avante’s content strategy and brand voice across thought leadership, blogs, social media, events, webinars, podcasts, sales enablement, and nurture campaigns. Build the content engine, create compelling narratives for HR and benefits leaders, support SEO and AEO, and use AI to repurpose content efficiently. Partner with product marketing, demand generation, creative, sales, customers, and executives while maintaining consistent messaging and adapting to the needs of a growing startup.

Ask any employee to explain their benefits, and you'll likely get a confused shrug. Ask any HR leader if their benefits investment is working, and you'll get an honest "I don't know." For employees, benefits are confusing and overwhelming. For HR and finance leaders, benefits are the second-largest expense, but they lack the visibility to know what's working and what's wasted.

At Avante, we're changing that. We're an AI-native benefits intelligence platform built to help companies and HR leaders run benefits more effectively with AI. For employees, our agent Carly provides personalized, always-on benefits guidance. For benefits leaders, our agent Ava serves as the extension of the Benefits team, handling operational workload and giving them better insights, sooner. .

We're based in Seattle and expanding our presence to New York City, and work 4 days a week in the office (one day remote). We sell to Fortune 2000 employers, with customers like Samsung, Zscaler, and News Corp, and our marketing team is still small enough that one person's writing sets the tone for how the entire market understands what we do. We're looking for a Senior Content Marketing Manager to be that person.

The Role

AI for benefits barely existed two years ago, and someone has to write the story of why it matters. That's this role: You'll be the voice behind the ideas, events, and content that make HR and benefits leaders sit up and pay attention.
Day to day, you'll plan and write across a range of formats: blog posts, sales enablement materials, event and webinar content, social, and more, moving fluidly between short-term production and longer-term editorial planning. You'll partner closely with product marketing, demand generation, and creative to make sure content ladders up to the right goals and reaches the right audience, and you'll use data to figure out what's working and adjust accordingly.

This is a senior individual contributor role built for a writer at heart: You'll launch thought leadership communications, shape the narrative behind our webinars and panels, and turn Avante's customer relationships into stories nobody else can tell. You'll own and curate Avante’s brand voice, and identify areas of improvement as this industry continues to develop. What's yours is the writing itself: the original thinking, sharp framing, and proprietary point of view that no AI tool or outside agency can produce.

What You'll Do

Build Avante's content engine. Stand up the fundamentals: a working content calendar, a website content, and a steady cadence of GTM enablement materials that give sales something concrete to use in every deal.

Curate Avante's point of view. Build narratives, materials, and thought leadership that define our category, educate and entertain our buyers, and enlighten and engage our partners and customers.

Write and shape our event content. Build the speaker guides, narrative arcs, and talking points behind our webinars, panels, and podcasts. You provide the narrative and direction; creative partners handle production.

Lead our social presence. You'll shape what we say on our social platforms and make sure it sounds like a company with something to say, not another AI vendor posting for the algorithm.

Support demand generation with nurture content. Write the drip sequences that keep leads warm once they enter the funnel, and write to improve AEO and SEO through topical content, optimized for ranking.

Protect a consistent brand voice. Make sure everything Avante puts out, whatever the format or channel, sounds like it's coming from the same company. You're the one who catches it when copy drifts off-brand, and the one who keeps that voice sharp as more people touch content over time.

Use AI to extend your reach, not replace your thinking. Let it handle the mechanical work, slicing long-form pieces into emails, subject lines, and social copy, so you can spend your time on what it can't produce: original ideas, real customer stories, and a voice that's recognizably Avante's.

Adapt as we grow. Scope will shift as the marketing function scales, and you should welcome that.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years in content marketing or a writing-heavy communications role, with a portfolio led by thought leadership and executive or event content, not general content ops

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent experience

  • Excellent, independently strong writing and editing skills; you can take a rough transcript or technical brief and turn it into something a senior HR or benefits leader wants to read

  • Direct experience writing for events: speaker guides, panel and webinar narratives, or podcast content

  • A track record of producing enablement materials that sales teams actually use, built on real relationships, not generic testimonials

  • Comfort using AI tools to repurpose and extend long-form writing, paired with clear judgment about what only a human writer should produce

  • Experience partnering with product marketing or brand partners and executing on their vision.

  • Early-stage startup experience, including comfort being the only content person for a while

  • Nice to Have:
  • Experience marketing to enterprise-level/Fortune 2000 companies

  • A published writing background (bylines, books, or a personal platform with real readership)

  • Experience marketing to HR, benefits, or healthcare buyers

How We Work

Our four values aren't aspirational. They translate into concrete operating tenets that shape how we make decisions every day.

Beat Yesterday. We re-evaluate our own toolkit every quarter, because the workflows that made you effective three months ago may already be outdated. We act on 70% of the information rather than waiting for certainty. We timebox, execute, and iterate, getting work in front of real people quickly instead of polishing in isolation. And we own our output regardless of how we produced it. AI can get you 80% of the way there. Everything that goes out with your name on it is your responsibility to review, refine, and stand behind.

Embrace Type 2 Fun. We take on hard problems and find meaning in the work, even when it's uncomfortable. We assume good intent and follow up directly rather than venting in side channels. We celebrate wins loudly and specifically, naming the actual behavior so the whole team learns what great looks like. We are on by default, because we owe it to each other and to our customers to be available beyond what a regular corporate job would demand. And we do unscalable things today that build scalable advantages tomorrow: every hand-built account play and late-night proposal turnaround earns us the right to scale later.

Stay Hungry, Stay Curious. We expect everyone to be the expert on AI in their function before anyone asks them to be. The landscape changes weekly. When you learn something, teach it. Learn enough about adjacent functions to ask good questions. Ask the question you think is too basic, because in complex domains like benefits, the cost of a wrong assumption can be a lost account. And remember: curiosity without urgency is a hobby. Learning has to translate into action on a timeline that matches the opportunity.

Act Like an Owner. We say the uncomfortable thing early, raising missed commitments or quality gaps directly with the person within 48 hours. We surface problems when they're small, not the week they become a crisis. Customer-facing work gets priority, always. And we close the loop every time, because over-communication is a feature at our stage, not a bug.
