Who are we hiring?

The Senior Manager of Strategic Operations will contribute to driving company-wide strategic and operational priorities of Sphere as it enters its next phase of growth and expansion. This role sits at the intersection of strategic consulting and operations — requiring someone who can both develop high-quality strategic frameworks and fully immerse themselves to help execute complex, cross-functional growth initiatives. You will play a key role in supporting Sphere's expansion strategy, such as developing scalable operational models and frameworks, and partnering cross-functionally to establish detailed plans to operationalize new venues. You will bring experience with scaled operations across a portfolio of locations — experience that will help translate strategies into repeatable, on-the-ground operational plans and playbooks that enable each new venue to launch efficiently and perform at a high standard from day one.

You will drive internal consulting-style engagements, helping teams across Sphere diagnose challenges, structure solutions, and implement change. You will problem solve with significant breadth and depth, operating effectively in ambiguous environments and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

You will report to and partner with the VP of Strategic Operations and Alliances to develop strategy and aid decision-making across the broader organization.

What will you do?

  • Support internal consulting-style engagements across the business, working with senior stakeholders to define problems, structure analyses, develop recommendations, and drive implementation of strategic and operational growth and expansion initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and execution of operational rollout plans for new Sphere venues, ensuring that systems, processes, staffing frameworks, etc. are established and scaled effectively across a growing portfolio of locations.
  • Aid the planning and execution of major strategic initiatives, helping define organization-wide priorities and providing data-driven insights on key business outcomes, operational efficiencies, and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with internal teams - including Venue Operations, Studios, Sales & Service, Ads & Sponsorships, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Technology, Corporate Development, and Business Operations - to align on strategic priorities and deliver high-impact outcomes for Sphere's most important initiatives and engagements.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative/business-oriented field, or equivalent practical experience. MBA preferred.
  • 4-6+ years of experience within one or more of the following fields: Management Consulting, Portfolio Operations, Investment Banking, Business Operations, or Strategy & Business Development.
  • Experience with multi-location, franchise, or chain-oriented industries/companies such as hospitality (e.g. arena, hotel or restaurant chains), entertainment, fitness/wellness, or similarly-scaled consumer businesses is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in growing operations across multiple locations or markets with companies that have an owned-and-operated and/or franchise model(s) is a plus.
  • Experience leading and influencing in a highly matrixed, cross-functional environment with strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Track-record of successfully delivering global strategy, operations, and high-impact growth initiatives, operating in highly ambiguous environments.

Special Requirements

  • Periodic travel to Burbank, Las Vegas, and other Sphere locations.
