Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant / Solution Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant / Solution Architect to lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations environment, including the Human Resources (HR) module.

This role will serve as the primary functional and solution lead for the project, helping design scalable ERP processes, guide best practices, oversee integrations, and ensure a successful deployment and adoption across the organization.

The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience implementing D365 F&O in production environments and understands both the business and technical sides of enterprise ERP deployments.


Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & ERP Design

  • Lead overall solution design and architecture for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Evaluate current business processes and recommend scalable ERP best practices.
  • Design cross-functional workflows across Finance, Procurement, Inventory, Operations, and HR.
  • Define system architecture, security model, environment strategy, and deployment approach.
  • Ensure implementation aligns with Microsoft best practices and long-term scalability.

Functional Implementation

Configure, implement, and optimize D365 F&O modules including:

  • Finance
  • Procurement & Sourcing
  • Inventory Management
  • Supply Chain / Operations
  • Human Resources (HR)
  • Workflow approvals
  • Employee self-service processes

Responsibilities include:

  • Requirements gathering
  • Gap analysis
  • Functional design documentation
  • System configuration
  • User acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Production deployment and go-live support

Human Resources (HR) Module Leadership

Lead implementation and optimization of D365 Human Resources including:

  • Employee lifecycle management
  • Leave and absence management
  • Benefits administration
  • Employee self-service portal
  • HR workflows and approvals
  • Organizational hierarchy and position management

Provide recommendations on HR process automation and best practices.


Integration & Data Migration

  • Oversee integrations between D365 and external systems including:
    • Dataverse
    • Power Platform
    • Payroll systems
    • Business Central
    • CRM systems
    • Third-party applications
  • Guide data migration strategy, cleansing, validation, and import processes.
  • Collaborate with technical consultants and developers on integrations, APIs, and customizations.

Governance & Project Leadership

  • Serve as the primary ERP functional lead and advisor.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Support project planning, deployment timelines, and risk management.
  • Lead solution reviews and ensure project deliverables are completed successfully.

Training & Post-Go-Live Support

  • Train end users and system administrators.
  • Create process documentation and functional guides.
  • Provide post-go-live stabilization and optimization support.
  • Assist with long-term ERP governance and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementation experience.
  • Proven experience leading full-cycle D365 F&O implementations and production go-live deployments.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Finance & Accounting
    • Procurement & Inventory
    • Operations / Supply Chain
    • Human Resources (HR)
  • Must possess the following active Microsoft certifications:
    • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate (MB-310)
    • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Human Resources Functional Consultant Associate (MB-220)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • D365 security roles
    • Workflow automation
    • Data migration
    • ERP integrations
    • Environment and deployment management
  • Experience with Power Platform and Dataverse integrations.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate (MB-330)
  • Experience with:
    • Lifecycle Services (LCS)
    • Electronic Reporting (ER)
    • Power BI
    • Azure integrations
    • Business Central integration
    • API integrations
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or service industries.
  • Previous consulting or solution architecture experience.
