Technical Leader - Project Engineering

Job Description SummaryThe Project Engineering team is part of the Onshore Wind Systems Engineering organization. The Technical Leader will provide leadership and technical direction for the Project Engineering team. In addition, this role is responsible for leading the engineering execution of new wind farm, repower and CM&U projects as the primary liaison and single point of contact between engineering and project management, supply chain, the site team, customers, and subcontractors. The scope includes the fulfillment of all equipment and software deliverables along with the completeness and accuracy of the digital thread up to the commercial operation date.
In addition to providing customers with engineering excellence, the Technical Leader will support the team with resource assignments, strategic workforce planning, daily management, operating rhythms and overall team strategy.
As the Technical Leader, you are essential to the successful execution of our projects. You will provide technical leadership to the project execution and customer-facing teams, ensuring each phase of the project is delivered with an excellent operational rigor.

Job Description

The Technical Leader will ensure fulfillment of customer orders in compliance with contractual requirements, provide technical project management, technical direction, and drives coordination of engineering activities and critical issue resolution for OTR-related issues for all assigned wind projects. Essential responsibilities:

· Translating project requirements into product definition and issue bills of materials to supply chain

· Creating and/or facilitate project specific engineering instructions as well as customer & commissioning documentation

· Providing timely & accurate responses to customer and field teams technical inquiries for turbine assembly, installation, and commissioning through final customer acceptance of the wind farm

· Provide technical leadership, advice and assistance to the overall project team

· Drive process & standardization around project execution tasks

· Lead process improvement efforts related to GE Vernova’s project engineering, enabling faster response times, better customer optimizations and engineering productivity

· Drive lessons learned back into the design engineering organizations to avoid repeating issues

· Liaise between customers and Engineering regarding balance of plant equipment for the purpose of configuring interfaces, safety protections, and control systems for both the wind turbine and the entire wind farm

· Facilitate the configuration of control software and parameters based upon the site requirements and specific unit configurations

· Coordinate, schedule, and thoroughly communicate with allocated resources to complete engineering deliverables

Qualifications/Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science or related field.

· 8+ years' engineering and technology experience, including strong demonstration of technical skills and project leadership.

· Fluent in English

· Ability and availability to travel 10% of the year

· Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and 3D models and plus

· Experience providing technical support to peers, customers and leadership regarding the details of technical issues and project status

· Effective problem-solving abilities

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
