Yext prices IPO valuation
Location data platform Yext is pricing its upcoming IPO at between $8 and $10 a share. The company's updated S-1 filing states that it plans to sell 10.5 million shares of its common stock, raising $84 million at the bottom of the range or $105 million at the top. That means the company is seeking a valuation of $854 million at the top end — and $870 million if it exercises its over-allotment option. Yext's shares will trade on the New York Stock exchange, under the symbol ‘YEXT.’ [Business Insider]
Industrious acquires Pivotdesk, raises $25M
This week, coworking network Industrious announced it is acquiring Boulder-based Pivotdesk, a platform that connects startups that need office space with those that have it to spare. The company also announced an additional $25 million to its Series B, bringing the total round to $62 million. The most recent funding was led by Riverwood Capital. [Built In NYC]
Impact Radius unveils new NYC office, plans to double team over coming months
This week, Santa-Barbara based Impact Radius unveiled a brand new office space on Park Avenue South, the latest milestone in the company’s fast-growth roadmap to become a major player when it comes to marketing data. With about 50 employees in its New York City office, Impact Radius also plans on doubling the team over the coming months, especially in sales, data science and marketing. [Built In NYC]
Storyhunter raises $1.3 million for global talent market for video journalists
On Wednesday, Storyhunter, a marketplace that matches video journalists with news organizations and brands, raised $1.3 million, bringing the company’s total funding to $4.2 million. Draper Associates led the round and was joined by previous investors Frontier Ventures, NFX Guild, and 500 Startups. [VentureBeat]
Vice announces its first slate of short, scripted videos
For the first time, Vice Media is moving into scripted video programming as part of its partnership with digital media studio Blackpills. To date, the media company has only produced new- or documentary-focused content. The new videos will be produced with mobile viewing in mind and will be distributed through Vice’s online video channel. [TechCrunch]
Bustle raises $12 million
Bustle, founded in 2013 by Bleacher Report founder Bryan Goldberg, raised $12 million in Series D funding this week. This latest round is a followup from the $11 million it raised last year and the $15.5 million Series C it secured in 2014 and reportedly values the company at around $200 million. Amper raises $4M to use AI to write music
Amper, a startup that offers AI-powered music composition, announced it raised a $4 million funding this week. The round was led by Two Sigma Ventures, with participation from Foundry Group, Kiwi Venture Partners and Advancit Capital. [TechCrunch]
