Research and design concepts for the web that are usable, beautiful, and marketable.
Develop information architecture and execute wireframes.
Design page layouts and interaction methodology.
Design of templates and art direction of photography for templates.
Work closely with developers during build processes.
Work collaboratively with other designers to tackle complex design problems.
Work with stakeholders in other departments to understand business objectives and provide solutions through design.
Work collaboratively with our content studio to create beautiful visual content.
Participate throughout a project’s entire creative process.
Design flows and experiences for our products that are simple, elegant, and bring theSkimm’s voice to life.
Partner in cross-functional squads across design, product, engineering, and editorial to oversee the user experience of a product from conception to launch.
Work through design problems from beginning to end, translating insights into ideas that form a meaningful and delightful user experience.
Build user flows, wireframes and prototypes, producing multiple concepts, knowing when to apply attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes.
Engage directly with users to test design ideas and solutions and then leverage that feedback and data to iterate on the designs.
Create visual designs that effectively communicates brand identity.
Understand the value of design patterns and help build and maintain a cohesive visual language.
1. Designing Travel Channel promotional materials including key art, digital banners, title treatment logos,TV promo elements and press kits (to name a few).
2. Collaborating side by side with the Art Director, Creative Director, Photo Editor, Writer/Producers and Production Manager through all phases of ideation and production.
3. Participating and contributing to concept brainstorms.
4. Producing realized comps to sell through ideas that are on strategy and on brand.
5. Proactively following projects from conception to execution, delivering each step quickly and on time.
6. Properly setting up clean files to be released to retouchers and prepress.
7. Providing design direction and support to internal and external customers.
8. Managing outside vendors including retouchers, illustrators and printing companies.
You will recruit and lead the designers needed for this team to maintain and evolve our existing design systems and design tools, working closely with our Design Platform team as well as the product design teams across our entire platform.
