Manage and enhance Airwallex’s global AML/CTF framework across policies, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions controls, investigations, regulatory updates, and governance. Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Operations, Risk, and regional compliance teams to embed risk-based controls into global payments workflows. Support regulatory examinations, audits, partner inquiries, remediation, metrics, training, and continuous improvement across a complex fintech environment.

Leads the global technical accounting function, overseeing complex US GAAP treatments, regional reporting, accounting policies, product-launch assessments, judgmental estimates, ICFR, SOX-compliant documentation, and PCAOB-quality technical memos. Partners with product and business teams, trains regional finance staff, and drives controllership improvements through workflow automation, AI adoption, and implementation of new accounting standards.

Build and lead Airwallex's first-line commercial risk function: define strategy and supportability frameworks, provide pre-deal guidance, translate policies into commercial playbooks, embed risk ownership, design continuous portfolio monitoring, lead incident post-mortems and governance, and recruit and scale a global team.

Lead and scale AMER regional AML/financial crime compliance, act as regional MLRO liaison with federal and state regulators, provide compliance sign-off on high-risk decisions, advise on licensing and product compliance, oversee local operations and reporting, and deliver regional training to enable compliant market expansion.

Leads independent monitoring of Airwallex’s global financial crime compliance framework, assessing AML and sanctions controls, identifying gaps and emerging risks, and driving remediation. The role builds risk-based monitoring across key FCC areas, reports program effectiveness and risk exposure to senior leadership and the Board, and partners with FCC, MLRO, Risk, Legal, Product, Operations, and Technology stakeholders.
