As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll collaborate with customers to design and implement scalable real-time applications, troubleshoot issues, and enhance the developer experience on the LiveKit platform.

Build and own LiveKit’s technical enablement program for sales teams. Responsibilities include auditing technical knowledge gaps, creating curriculum and hands-on labs, onboarding AEs and SDRs, developing learning paths for presales teams, certifying demo readiness, updating content with product releases, and measuring ramp time, technical conversation readiness, assessment results, and seller confidence.

Own and build LiveKit’s vulnerability management and security operations program. Responsibilities include deploying scanning tools, triaging vulnerabilities, assessing severity, assigning remediation owners and SLAs, creating dashboards, automating remediation workflows, and collecting compliance evidence. The role partners closely with engineering and compliance teams and may involve agentic security automation, incident response, application security, and AI security.

Own the architecture and engineering of LiveKit’s go-to-market systems, including Salesforce, HubSpot, integrations, enrichment pipelines, data flows, and agentic workflows. Lead build-versus-buy decisions, vendor evaluations, roadmap planning, observability, change management, and CPQ-to-billing automation. Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, RevOps, Legal, IT, and Engineering while mentoring engineers and establishing technical standards for reliable, scalable GTM infrastructure.

Design developer tools for testing, evaluating, debugging, and observing AI voice agents. Translate dense real-time data into clear interfaces, create AI-native interaction patterns, prototype in code, collaborate with engineers, and contribute to design systems for technical debugging workflows.

Own 8–10 full-cycle technical recruiting searches for engineering roles, partnering with hiring managers, sourcing passive candidates, building talent pipelines, closing senior and staff-level hires, and improving recruiting systems and candidate experience. The role requires strong technical recruiting expertise across infrastructure, backend, developer tools, open source, or AI, plus the ability to implement thoughtful AI-enabled recruiting practices.

Run US and international payroll end to end, including payroll tax filings, multi-state compliance, PEO/EOR management, reconciliations, and month-end close support. Build payroll calendars, controls, processes, and documentation as payroll moves into Finance. Partner with People, Talent, and Accounting, support Carta equity administration, answer payroll questions, and handle auditor requests. Serve as the internal subject-matter expert while identifying tax, legal, and compliance risks.

Own infrastructure security for LiveKit’s production platform. Map cloud security posture, prioritize and remediate infrastructure risks, harden IAM, secrets, networks, tenant isolation, and media storage, and build secure infrastructure-as-code guardrails. Partner with compliance teams on PCI-DSS and ISO 27001 controls and automate audit evidence. The role requires cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, scripting, and production infrastructure security experience, with AI security and real-time media experience preferred.

Owns LiveKit’s revenue accounting function, including ASC 606 policy development, monthly revenue close, deferred revenue and contract balances, external audit support, billing-to-revenue reconciliation, order-to-cash governance, collections, and commission capitalization under ASC 340-40. The role also reviews complex deal structures, documents technical accounting conclusions, and builds scalable automated revenue processes for usage-based and consumption revenue.

Own the product organization’s operating system, including planning cadence, roadmap management, goal tracking, reporting, product development standards, launch readiness, customer insight systems, PM onboarding, training, tools, and team practices. Partner with product leadership, data, marketing, sales, success, and engineering to improve team effectiveness, visibility, and decision-making as the company scales.
