The Head of Creator Marketing at Substack will drive creator narratives, build inbound marketing strategies, and establish cultural authority to attract creators and boost subscriptions.

Lead and scale Substack's sponsorships business: build pipeline and revenue, sell directly to senior brand and agency buyers, create pricing/packaging and sales infrastructure, collaborate with publishers and creative strategy, and represent Substack at industry events to shape product and market positioning.

Lead implementation and operations for brand sponsorship campaigns: manage trafficking, QA, launch, delivery monitoring, integrations (tracking/third-party), order management, reporting, and billing handoffs. Onboard and troubleshoot brands/agencies, build scalable workflows and tooling with design/engineering, generate an AI-first outbound demand engine, and write playbooks/documentation to scale the marketplace.

Build and test growth features that attract and retain readers and creators. Responsibilities include developing monetization and audience-building tools, designing experiments to improve conversion and retention, and partnering with cross-functional teams from product discovery through deployment. The role requires autonomous ownership of production software and uses TypeScript, Node.js, Express, React, and PostgreSQL.

Develop native campaign concepts for brands, match brands with Substack writers, own creative pre-sale and execution, write proposals and pitch materials, run multiple creator-driven sponsorship campaigns, and iterate based on platform performance.
