Own technical direction and complex projects for Tempo, Grafana’s distributed tracing backend. Build and optimize ingestion, storage, query, metrics, and API components; improve performance, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence. Collaborate across product and engineering teams, write design documentation, participate in on-call and incident response, mentor engineers, and contribute to the open-source Tempo project.

Lead architecture and execution of Grafana's marketing data stack and analytics practice. Build forecasting, predictive, and causal models, design BigQuery schemas, deploy agentic AI and automated pipelines, partner with GTM leadership, and deliver executive-grade insights to drive demand generation and ROI.

Build and maintain Grafana Cloud integrations and observability features across frontend (TypeScript/React), backend (Golang), and monitoring mixins (Jsonnet). Deliver features from concept through production, improve reliability and performance, review code and designs, manage releases, collaborate across the squad, contribute to open-source projects, and participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations. The role involves cloud software development, microservices, observability, DevOps practices, and database query optimization.

Prospect and close new enterprise business across the West region. Responsibilities include outbound prospecting, managing the full sales cycle, conducting demos and proofs of concept, negotiating proposals, meeting sales targets, maintaining Salesforce pipeline forecasts, processing quotes and orders, and communicating the value of Grafana Cloud and Grafana Enterprise. Lead frontend engineering initiatives for Grafana’s DataViz squad, from problem framing through rollout and measurement. Build and improve visualization features using TypeScript, React, uPlot, and eCharts; mentor engineers; contribute to design reviews and technical proposals; participate in on-call and incident response; support customer escalations; and collaborate across squads. The role also emphasizes open-source contribution, observability expertise, pragmatic AI-assisted development, and effective remote communication.

Lead and mentor Commercial Account Executives across the West region, driving revenue growth, pipeline development, territory planning, quotas, and strategic account relationships. Develop annual sales plans, support complex deal closures, guide QBR and HBR preparation, and partner with Marketing, Solutions Engineering, R&D, and Customer Support.
