Designs and optimizes active and passive silicon photonic components, especially Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers, through simulation, layout, tapeout, fabrication, and characterization. Performs electromagnetic, thermal, and multiphysics modeling; analyzes wafer-level data; develops robust III-V/Si integrated designs; and collaborates with system designers, layout engineers, and foundry partners to improve manufacturability and performance.

Lead architecture and development of large-scale silicon photonic integrated circuits from simulation and layout through tapeout and characterization. Own chip-level specifications, optical routing, floorplanning, DFM, verification, foundry execution, and performance validation. Provide technical leadership across photonic, packaging, electronic IC, software, and test teams while developing component libraries, evaluating PDKs, and translating wafer-level measurements into design improvements.

Design and release precision mechanical hardware, housings, assemblies, tooling, fixtures, and alignment systems for LiDAR sensors. Own global supply chain projects for LiDAR and optical circuit switch products from prototype sourcing through volume manufacturing. Responsibilities include procurement, logistics, supplier selection and negotiations, demand and capacity planning, NPI transfers, risk mitigation, cost management, supplier quality, trade compliance, ERP/MRP process development, and executive reporting. The role manages suppliers across North America, Asia, and Europe and partners with engineering, operations, quality, finance, customers, and contract manufacturers.

Own control and calibration for optical circuit switch photonic devices, including device characterization, closed-loop algorithm development, driver electronics requirements, automated test benches, firmware handoff, and final validation. The role requires Python prototyping, control and estimation expertise, photonic device physics, mixed-signal electronics knowledge, lab automation, and embedded C/C++ debugging. This is an on-site position collaborating across photonics, electronics, firmware, and test engineering teams.

Designs and executes verification and characterization tests for LiDAR sensor systems and subsystems. The engineer develops automated test benches, runs derisk experiments, correlates measurements with simulations, troubleshoots complex hardware and photonics issues, and produces reports that guide specifications and design decisions. The role collaborates with hardware, optics, photonics, firmware, and controls teams throughout development and production support. It is an on-site, hands-on position requiring strong Python, laboratory instrumentation, systems engineering, and physics fundamentals.

Design and execute experiments to validate optical circuit switch architectures, characterize silicon photonic chips and prototypes, correlate measurements with models, and identify performance gaps. Build and automate scalable optical test benches, analyze data, produce technical reports, and collaborate with photonics, controls, electronics, firmware, and modeling teams.
