Represents immigrants in removal proceedings and applications for immigration relief before USCIS and EOIR. Provides trauma-informed legal representation, safety planning, consultation, and advocacy for survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Handles family, matrimonial, domestic violence, and immigration matters, conducts legal clinics and outreach, builds Bronx community partnerships, mentors interns and volunteers, and participates in systemic advocacy. Legal intern supporting NYLAG’s LGBTQ Law Unit through client intake and interviews, legal research and writing, document drafting and filing, client file maintenance, and participation in client meetings. The role provides civil legal services to LGBTQ New Yorkers across housing, family, immigration, benefits, estate, employment discrimination, and related matters. Candidates must be current law students; fluent Spanish speakers are strongly preferred. The position follows a hybrid policy with at least two days of in-person work weekly.

Unpaid legal internship supporting NYLAG’s LegalHealth generalist practice. Interns will assist with client intake, legal research and writing, drafting pleadings and motions, client advocacy, government benefits and housing matters, immigration status, estate planning, and client file maintenance while working with staff lawyers and paralegals.

Provide client-centered civil legal services to New York City residents affected by changes to SNAP, Medicaid, and other public benefits. Conduct intakes, offer advice and representation, deliver Know Your Rights presentations, conduct community outreach, collaborate with legal and community partners, identify impact litigation opportunities, maintain case records, and support pro bono attorneys and volunteers.
